Once Saved always Saved?
The Armenians at least have this right, "sort of". You will find this in this in most of the Holiness Churches:
and sometimes more. Their pastors will teach you sin will separate you from God. If you being saved, fall in temptation and sin that you will be removed from God until you fall on your knees and beg forgiveness, which God is always faithful to forgive. Then you are reinstated. This is half true, as God is always faithful to forgive when we ask, but the rest of it is nothing but hogwash. My bible tells me we were made sin because of Adams sin.
Rom 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Let me put it this way. If you sat down to make a table and you finish it, it is a table. You can try to use it for a lamp, or a chair, but it is still a table. It was made a table, and a table it will be.
By the same thing we were made sin, and sinners we are. If this isn't true what are the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th chapters of Romans all about? Sin will not, and does not, separate us from God. Anybody ever go to the Greenbax store and redeem their green stamps for merchandise? When we give our lives to the Lord, we are redeemed, or bought with a price. The price was the blood of Jesus. At that time we are made righteous, and justified. We then are able to walk in spirit, in faith, but we are still in the flesh, or sinful bodies. It does not mean we won't sin any more. The apostle Paul said as long as we walk in the faith of Jesus these sins are not even imputed to us.
Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Now to you holiness preachers out there, what just happened to your teaching that I can sin, die tonight without asking forgiveness, and go to hell?
Now this is NOT a license to go sin. We should resist sin in all ways humanly possible. Why? Because we are to be obedient to the word. Paul put it like this.
Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Rom 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid!
Again, the problems we get into with this teaching that comes from the Church, we find ourselves constantly fighting to keep ourselves eligible for salvation. There is nothing we can do to keep ourselves eligible, except live by faith. Never stop believing.
IT IS A FAITH PROGRAM.
Now! Getting to the topic, can I lose my salvation? YEP! It is so simple to do it is scary. I can turn to church law and regulations in order to lift myself up and make myself eligible, or all I have to do is stop living by faith. When we have trials that make us want to quit, we have no choice but continue to believe. The Baptist love to quote a scripture on this one saying they are protected and can't be removed from the grace of God.
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
problem here is they didn't read it. It says I can't reach in and remove
someone, it doesn't say someone can't get up and walk out.
