This teaching is really out of place here. It does not necessarily come from Calvinism or Arminianism. It is taught in all Churches, and of some importance. In the Church today we are taught there is nothing in creation that God doesn't know, and that He is every where allover the earth, all at one time. In my opinion this is not necessarily a true statement. I will show you in at least 3 scriptures God Himself states otherwise.
My purpose for writing on this subject is not to place limits on God, but to make you question the teaching that comes out of the Church today. After all, God isn't going to fall off His throne if some one questions a teaching while genuinely searching for understanding on a subject. One of the problems I see in the church today is that people will swallow anything if grandmother taught them something when they were a kid and the preacher said so. You don't often find anyone who will research something for themselves.
Now, lets look at a couple of scriptures where God Himself says he didn't know a thing.
Jer 19:5 They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind:
Jer 32:35 And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
Gee, you mean God didn't know they were going to do this until they did it? WELL!! He just said He didn't know they were going to pull such a stunt. My question is if He is all knowing why didn't He know ahead of time, and if He is omnipresent why wasn't He there when it happened? Something to think about huh? I have another scripture about the subject that is the killer.
Gen 18:20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
Gen 18:21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.
Huh? You mean God didn't know about Sodom and Gomorrah? Well, I guess not, but it is what he just said. The word "cry" here translates "report". So we know a report came to God about Sodom and Gomorrah. When He got this report you can almost see him scratch his head and say, MAN! I gotta see this for myself, and He physically got off his throne and came down to Earth to see , and then He would know for sure.
So you tell me, if he is all knowing Why did He have to be told about it. Who told him? It had to be an angel, or Lot prayed and told Him. If He is everywhere all at one time, He should have known it.
In the above I have given you the scripture, and my reasoning on the subject. The following is MY opinion about it.
First of all, does God have the ability to know all things? YES. I do believe He is all knowing in all things pertaining to His plan for the Church. I believe when you accepted Christ as Lord and Savior He immediately knew all things about you there was to know. However to the unsaved I am sure he does want them to have the message of the Gospel, and for them to know they have been called. Now if they hear, and know they have been called, and reject it, He very likely is no longer concerned. It might be a possibility that when He made the call, He doesn't know how you will answer until you do or don't. Again are we not creatures of free will?
He is omnipresent in all things pertaining to His plan for His Church in
SPIRIT. Not physically. Don't hear me wrong, I am not saying He can't
know, He is sovereign . He can do anything he wants. How ever if this
isn't true, please explain to me the verses above. My e-mail address is at
the end of my page, write to me.
